Stuart P. Illingworth DipSurv, MRICS | Director | RICS Registered Valuer

Having started work in 1991 for Halifax based firm Walker Singleton Stuart commenced training as an auctioneer dealing with asset disposals and insolvency work. As part of his professional training, he moved into the commercial property sector working in a variety of areas to include industrial, retail, office, investment and development.

Stuart achieved a Diploma in Surveying in 1995, and was elected a professional associate of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 1998 and is now an approved RICS Registered Valuer.

Accompanied by two fellow surveyors Stuart setup Woodhead Sharpes Ltd t/a Woodheads in 2001 acquiring two trading companies from retiring partners with offices in both Bradford and Wakefield. Woodheads initially dealt with a variety of residential and commercial work to include valuation, professional and agency but experienced significant expansion in the area of property management.

To develop this further and increase expansion in the commercial sector Stuart joined forces in 2005 with Mark Brearley of Mark Brearley & Co. in Shipley with whom the company is still associated sharing offices at Park View Court, Shipley.

Through Woodheads association with Mark Brearley & Co. Stuart regularly undertakes both Commercial & Residential property valuations for bank lending, acquisition, probate and tax purposes. Existing clients include Barclays Bank PLC, Lancashire Mortgage, Lloyds and Handelsbanken. 

Stuart has excellent experience in all aspects of commercial property including acquisitions, lettings, sales, valuations, professional work, rent reviews and lease renewals. In addition, he provides development advice to clients and deals with all aspects of commercial & residential property management issues.

Actively involved with the Bradford property market Stuart is both a committee member and Treasurer of Bradford District Auctioneers & Estate Agents Association, holding the office of president in 2008. In addition he is an active committee member of The Bradford Society of Architects and Surveyors having held the postion of president in 2014.

Mark .A.J.Brearley BSc, MRICS | Director | RICS Registered Valuer

Mark commenced work in Wakefield for Laidlaws in 1983 primarily working in the commercial department but also involved in residential valuation & surveys. In 1984, Mark moved to Eddisons in Bradford to join the well-established commercial and industrial team and gained valuable experience in retail agency, valuation and investment plus development agency. 

Mark achieved a degree in General Practice surveying in 1983, was elected a professional associate of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 1986 and is now an approved RICS Registered Valuer.

In 1994, Mark left Eddisons and together with his wife Jane started the practice of Mark Brearley & Company from offices at Eldon Place in Bradford City Centre. Since then, Mark Brearley & Company has become an established Bradford agent which boasts a mix of private and corporate clients to include KeyLand Developments Ltd, Prudential Assurance Ltd, Wm Morrison Supermarkets Plc, Mi7 Developments Ltd., Caddick Group, Bradford Centre Regeneration/Bradford Council, Bradford District NHS Care Trust, Bradford & Airedale Teaching Primary Care Trust, Bradford LIFT.

In 2005, Mark joined forces with Stuart Illingworth of Woodhead Sharpes Ltd, to bolster the property management expertise of the organisation and, the association between Woodheads and Mark Brearley & Company has strengthened ever since, expanding not only the agency and property management section of the business but also valuation for bank lending, acquisition and other purposes.

Actively involved in the Bradford property market, Mark was a founder member of Bradford Property Forum, is a member of Bradford Society of Architects & Surveyors and a member of Bradford Estate Agents & Auctioneers Society

Mrs Lucie Denvers BSc (Hons) | Property Manager (Shipley & Wakefield)

Lucie joined the company in January 2010 having previously worked in the property field for HBOS at their head office in Halifax. She obtained a degree from Leeds University in 1998.

Primarilly based at our Shipley office Lucie deals with both commercial and residential block management, rent and service charge collection, maintenance issues, and assisting with day to day management accounts. Lucie is also able to offer general property management advice and deal with new management instructions to include both block management and residential lettings.

Miss Natalie Riseborough | Accounts Manager (Shipley)

Natalie joined the company in January 2007 having previously worked as a Customer Services Officer for one of the Main High street Banks, she has been activley involved in day to day property management ever since with excellent expertise in residential lettings.

Based at our Shipley Office Natalie deals with the management of accounts for both ouyr Shipley and Ossett office. On a daily basis she deals with, and oversees all accounting related matters but given her expertise is able to offer general property management advise. 

Natalie works Monday to Thursday normal working hours.

Mrs Elaine Broome | Property Manager (Wakefield)

Elaine has been with company since commencement and has over 20 years experience in property management and rent collection. At present Elaine deals with predominatley residential lettings and property management throughout the Wakefield and surrounding area.

Based at our Ossett Office Elaine acts as general property manager dealing with residential lettings, rent collection, maintenance issues, viewings, plus general administration matters and other day to day issues. She is able to offer general property management advice and deal with new enquires and residential lettings.

Elaine works Monday to Wednesday normal working hours.

Miss Charlene Hanbury Residential Property Manager (Shipley)

Charlene joined the company in 2015 having previously worked for the NHS as a Health Visitor support worker.

Based at our Shipley office Charlene deals with New Lettings to include viewings plus the preperation of residential tenancy agreements, tenant reference, rent collection along with other day to day management and maintenance issues.

Charlene works Monday to Friday normal working hours.
